Busy Australia Day Schedule

Jessica has a busy schedule over the next three days, in her roles as Young Australian of the Year and then as an Australia Day ambassador on Sydney Harbour.

Today (Tuesday), Jessica is on her way to Canberra for two days of events and appearances with the Australia Day Council before handing over the reigns to the recipient of the 2012 Young Australian of the Year at tomorrow night's big event at Parliament House.  

Jessica said she had thoroughly enjoyed the role. 

"It's been an amazing 12 months and my role as Young Australian of the Year has created so many great opportunities to meet and speak with our youth. It has been a wonderful experience touring interstate and visiting the schools and talking to so many young people and hearing their stories," said Jessica.   

On the morning of Australia Day, she then heads to Sydney as one of the Australia Day ambassadors on Sydney Harbour - Jessica and her brother Tom will be judges for the Best Dressed Vessel Competition on the Harbour and also partake in all the other festivities of the day, before attending a State Reception in the evening.
